How do I add locations to an existing dataset?

There are a few different ways to add locations to your existing datasets. The first method works well if you are only adding a few locations at a time:

  1. Go to your dataset library, and click on the dataset that you want to add locations to.
  2. Click the “ADD” button and select “Row.”
  3. Fill in the location information.

The second method may be better if you are adding bulk locations:

  1. Open your dataset library.
  2. Click on the spreadsheet icon to the left of the dataset name you would like to edit.
  3. Click on the “Replace” button near the top of the page.
  4. Paste the updated dataset from your spreadsheet.
  5. Click “OK.”
  6. Mapline will replace the existing dataset with the new one, complete with updated locations.

The third method is the quickest method to add locations:

  1. Open your map.
  2. Click on the drop down menu to the right of the dataset name.
  3. Select “Add Pins.”
  4. Drop pins by clicking on the map.
  5. Click “Done.”

The fourth method works well if you want to add pins while still on the map page:

  1. Open your map.
  2. Use the search bar at the top to type in the address of the location you want to add.
  3. An orange temporary pin will appear at the location. Right click on the temporary pin and select “Add to dataset” and then “Add to existing dataset.”
  4. Select which dataset you would like to add the location to.
  5. Click “Done.”
