Easily turn rows of contacts, deals, and tickets into a visual map that helps you make smarter decisions. Whether it’s managing sales territories, tracking customer engagement, or planning your next big campaign, this connector is your ultimate power-up. Ready to get started? Let’s walk through the process step-by-step—no superpowers required.
CHECK HUBSPOT PERMISSIONS
First, log in to your HubSpot account and ensure you have Super Admin permissions. This isn’t just any login—you need to have the right clearance to build a Legacy Private app, which is how Hubspot allows integration.
Once you’re logged in, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then head to Profile and Preferences. Then, in the lefthand SETTINGS sidebar, select USERS & TEAMS. From here, you can see user permissions. If you do not have access to these settings, contact your company’s Hubspot admin.
Pro Tip: To check your administrative priveleges, click your name in the top-right corner of Hubspot and select PROFILE & PREFERENCES. Then, in the lefthand SETTINGS sidebar, select USERS & TEAMS. From here, you can see user permissions. If you do not have access to these settings, contact your company’s Hubspot admin.
CREATE A PRIVATE APP
Now comes the fun part—building your connector! This is your control room for setting up your HubSpot integration. In HubSpot, click your profile in the top-right corner and navigate to Profile & Preferences. From there, go to Integrations → Legacy Apps in the left-hand sidebar.
Click the Create legacy app button in the top-right corner, then select Private in the popup.
Give your app a name, and optionally add a logo and description. Once that’s set, click the Scopes tab at the top and select Add Scopes.
Scopes give you precise control over what HubSpot data Mapline can access—ensuring a secure and efficient integration without exposing unnecessary information. For the best functionality, include the following scopes based on your datasets:
- Companies: crm.objects.companies.read – Retrieve company data, including locations and industries.
- Contacts: crm.objects.contacts.read – Access contact details like addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
- Deals: crm.objects.deals.read – View deal stages, values, and associated data.
- Leads: crm.objects.leads.read – Track lead records for segmentation and territory assignments.
- Engagements: sales-email-read, crm.objects.contacts.read – Analyze calls, emails, meetings, and notes.
- Products: e-commerce – Access product data for revenue mapping and sales insights.
- Line Items: crm.objects.line_items.read – Visualize deal details and associated revenue.
- Tickets: tickets.read – Map customer support tickets and analyze trends.
Search for and select the scopes you need, then click Update. Once your scopes are configured, click Create app in the top-right corner.
Pro Tip: If your location data is stored in custom fields, be sure to include the appropriate read permissions so Mapline can access that data.
COPY ACCESS TOKEN
Nice work—you’ve just created your app.
Now it’s time to activate it. Head back to Integrations → Legacy Apps, locate your app, and click into it.
Open the Auth tab, then click Show token in the Access Token section.
This is your access token—your secure key that allows Mapline to connect to HubSpot. Copy it carefully and keep it safe. Treat it like sensitive credentials.
LINK TO MAPLINE
With your access token ready, it’s time to connect HubSpot to Mapline. Log in to Mapline, click your name in the top-right corner, and select CONNECTORS.
Click the blue + plus sign, name your connection, and select HUBSPOT from the APP drop-down menu. Then, paste your access token and you’re good to go!
It’s like you just plugged in a power cord—you’ll see your HubSpot data syncing with Mapline in no time. Buckle up, because it doesn’t stop here: this is just the beginning.
