The iCalendar (iCal) connector brings your schedules directly into Mapline, turning static calendars into living, location-aware insights. Instead of bouncing between tools or guessing how schedules impact routes, coverage, or workload, you can visualize everything in one place.
This integration is especially powerful for teams managing field visits, appointments, or recurring schedules tied to locations. Once connected, your calendar data becomes part of your operational picture—ready to be mapped, analyzed, and optimized.
With the iCal connector, Mapline helps you move faster, plan smarter, and finally see how time and location work together across your business.
FIND APPLE ID
Before adding the iCalendar connector, you’ll need your Apple ID and password. This ensures Mapline can securely connect to your calendar data.
On desktop (Mac): Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner, open System Settings (or System Preferences), and select your name at the top. Your Apple ID email will be displayed there.
On iPhone or iPad: Open Settings, tap your name at the top of the screen, and you’ll see your Apple ID directly under your name.
Password reminder: If you don’t remember your Apple ID password, you can reset it directly through Apple before continuing.
Pro Tip: For the most accurate insights, pair your iCalendar events with location-based data like territories or coverage areas. This allows you to quickly see whether scheduled appointments align with service regtions, reduce unnecessary travel, and uncover opportunities to rebalance workloads before inefficiencies stack up.
ADD NEW CONNECTOR
Once you have your Apple ID ready, head into Mapline to add the connection.
Click your name in the top-right corner of Mapline, then select CONNECTORS from the menu. From there, click the blue + button to add a new connector.
This is where Mapline’s automation engine starts doing the heavy lifting—connecting external systems so your data flows where it belongs.
CONFIGURE CONNECTOR
In the connector setup window, give your connection a clear, recognizable name so you can easily identify it later.
Paste in your Apple ID and password, then click OK to finalize the connection. Once saved, Mapline securely syncs with your iCalendar and prepares your schedule data for mapping and analysis.
From this point on, your calendar is no longer just a list of events—it’s actionable data.
DO MORE WITH YOUR DATA
The iCalendar connector unlocks a deeper layer of operational intelligence by blending time-based schedules with geographic context. Instead of reacting to conflicts or inefficiencies after the fact, you can proactively plan around them.
- Visualize appointments and schedules on a map to understand geographic workload distribution.
- Align routes and coverage areas with real appointment timing, not just assumptions.
- Spot scheduling bottlenecks, overlaps, or gaps that impact productivity.
- Combine calendar data with territories, routes, and dashboards for real-time operational insight.
With the iCal connector in place, Mapline helps your schedules work as hard as your team does.
