Ready to clean house? The Delete Rows From Dataset action helps you automatically remove outdated, invalid, or irrelevant records—without lifting a finger. It’s the fastest way to declutter your data and keep things current with zero manual cleanup.
Use it to remove duplicate entries, inactive accounts, or expired logs—automatically. Once it’s set up, your workflow handles the busywork. Here’s how:
ADD THE ACTION
Start by adding the Delete Rows From Dataset step to your workflow:
- Click the + icon inside your workflow builder
- Select Action > Delete Rows From Dataset
- Give the action a name like “Clear Inactive Rows” or “Auto-Delete Visits”

Pro Tip: Pair this action with Update Values in Dataset or Send an Email to notify someone before deletion occurs. You can also add a Confirmation Message step if you want users to approve the action before data is erased.
ACTION SETTINGS
Now choose which dataset you want to clean up and when:
- Select the target dataset from the dropdown
- Click “Add Filter Criteria” to define which rows should be deleted
- Set filters like Status = “Inactive”, Date < Today, or Visit Complete = Yes

SET CONDITIONAL LOGIC (OPTIONAL)
Want even more control? Add logic to determine when this deletion step should trigger.
- Click the logic icon next to the action step
- Create conditions like User Type = “Guest” or Delete Flag = True
- Use logic to restrict this action to certain cases, users, or stages in the workflow

KEEP YOUR DATA CLEAN
With smart filters and flexible logic, the Delete Rows from Dataset action becomes a powerful cleanup tool for ongoing maintenance. It works seamlessly with other workflow steps to automate data hygiene across your operation. Whether you’re managing customer records, processing form submissions, or maintaining system logs, this action helps you keep your datasets lean and clutter-free. Pair it with scheduled or conditional triggers, and you’ll never have to manually purge stale data again.
Use the Delete Rows from Dataset workflow action to automate:
- Removal of inactive or duplicate records based on last activity, status, or matching field values
- Daily or weekly purging of logs or form submissions using scheduled workflows with dynamic filters
- Clearing processed records after a workflow completes, using branching logic to delete only those that meet completion criteria
Cleaner datasets. Smoother workflows. Less manual cleanup. Set it once—and let automation do the rest.
