How do I heat map my territories?

11 Steps to Territorial Mapping

You can heat map your territories based on any column in your spreadsheet to easily see high and low performing areas in your network! Here are the steps:
  1. Open your map.
  2. Click “Add.”
  3. Click “Territories.”
  4. Select “From Mapline’s Repository.”
  5. Select the territory you would like to add by scrolling through the repository, or by typing in the desired territory. For example, “US States.”
  6. Select “Dynamic Heat Map Colors” as your Fill Color.
  7. Select the dataset to use for determining the colors of your territories.
  8. Select the type of heat-map calculation you would like to use. You can calculate the colors based on the number of locations (“location density”) or you can add values together from your spreadsheet.
  9. If you would like to map by percentile and assign a certain number of colors, change the number next to “percentile groups” by clicking on the orange arrows to the right. For example, if you want there to only be 4 colors for states (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green), then change the percentile groups number to 4. This will force each state to be one of the four colors.
  10. Select the gradient you would like to use.
  11. Click “OK.”
