How to Measure Distances Between Map Locations


1. OPEN YOUR MAP
You can open your map by single clicking the name, double clicking anywhere on the row, or by single clicking on the row and clicking the “Open” button. If you don’t have a map created, click on the “Add New Items” button. Then select, “New Map” and give it a name.

2. OPEN THE SHAPES MENU
After opening your map, click the “Add” button in the top left corner of the map. Click or hover over the “Shapes” option to open the shapes menu. You can then add either a line, circle, or rectangle to your map.The line feature will show the straight line distance between multiple points. The circle feature allows you to create circles with differently-sized radiuses. The rectangle feature will show the area of the covered region.

3. ADD A LINE OR SHAPE TO YOUR MAP
After choosing a shape, you can click and drag the map to the area you want to drop you first point. Click anywhere on the map to drop a starting point. You can then move your cursor to adjust the distance or area of the shape. Next to your cursor, you will see a box showing the distance or area of the shape. Once you’ve set your shape to the desired distance or area, click to drop the final point.

4. CUSTOMIZE YOUR LINE OR SHAPE
Before clicking “Done,” you can click “Style” to open the style menu. You can then customize the color, and thickness of the shapes. Click “OK” to apply the custom settings.

5. CLICK “DONE”
Click “Done” to save your line or shape to your map. Once it is saved, click on the shape to open a menu. In this menu, you will be able to generate a report of the territories or pins your shape covers, or add data to the shape.
